Member-Owned Since 1936
Northern Valley Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1936 to serve the financial needs of the Grand Forks community. For nearly 90 years, we have operated as a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative — meaning every dollar we earn goes back to our members through better rates, lower fees, and stronger services.
Unlike a bank, we don't answer to shareholders. Our members are our owners, and every member has an equal vote in how the credit union is run, regardless of how much they have on deposit.
Our Mission
To provide affordable, trustworthy financial services to the Grand Forks County and Polk County community while maintaining the personal relationships and local decision-making that have defined us since our founding.

Community Roots
We're proud to be part of Grand Forks. Our team lives here, banks here, and invests in the same community our members call home. From youth financial literacy programs to local sponsorships, we believe a credit union's purpose extends beyond financial services.
